Our school is a warm and inviting environment to learn in and make friends. Bilton has recently appointed a new Head Teacher which some students had a part in selecting. Our school is changing rapidly thanks to the cooperation of hard-working students and staff. We have recently implemented a stamp system which offers students the opportunity to redeem these stamps as prizes; ranging from pens and pencils to iPods.

Head Teacher's Welcome

I would like to welcome all the parents and carers of students at Bilton or who will be joining Bilton Specialist Maths and Computing School in the future. I am extremely pleased and proud to be the Headteacher of Bilton. When I joined the school in April 2010, the school had made tremendous progress already and I knew the school had the potential to become outstanding; the students, staff and local community demonstrated a real desire to achieve and a real sense of wanting to make a difference to the lives of young people in the area.

Things have changed a lot at the school over the last two years and our results in the summer were the best ever for Bilton School with 58% of our students achieving 5 A*-C grades including Maths and English, 79% achieving 5 A*-C grades in any subject and 97% of students achieving at least 5 A*-G grades.  This is the second year where there has been a significant rise in results - overall A*-C has risen 18% and the figure including maths and English is up by 13%.  Our targets for next year are 67% including maths and English and 85% overall.

The most pleasing aspect of the recent changes for me is the increasing pride in the school and involvement of students and parents in shaping the future of Bilton.  This is reflected not only in our new uniform and logo - designed by Bilton students but also in our vision statement which governors, students, parents and staff have contributed to:

'Proud of our school; confident in our potential; positive about our future.

Believe in Bilton'
